Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
Applies to: Savology.com and all associated subdomains
Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using the Savology tools and web applications found at savology.com and associated subdomains (the “Service”), operated by Savology, Inc. and its affiliated companies (“us,” “we,” or “our”).
Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy. By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by both. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you do not have permission to access the Service.
Who These Terms Apply To
These Terms apply to four categories of users, each with different features, data practices, and obligations. Where terms differ by category, this document calls that out clearly.
Advisor Subscription Users
Licensed financial advisors, financial coaches, and financial planning professionals who access Savology through a paid subscription. Their use of the Service is governed by these Terms and any separate subscription or matching delivery agreement.
Employer-Channel Users
Users access Savology through an employer-sponsored benefit program. Their financial data is subject to a strict firewall and is never entered into the consumer advisor-sponsored acquisition funnel without explicit separate opt-in.
Consumer Users
Created a Savology account directly, through our website, a marketing campaign, or a landing page, outside of an employer benefit program or an advisor subscription. A core feature of the Service for Consumer Users is connection with licensed financial advisors, financial coaches, and financial professionals through Savology’s Advisor and Coach Matching Program. Consumer Users are also offered optional paid platform upgrades and consumer-facing products from Savology’s affiliate partner providers, including term life insurance, disability income insurance, estate planning services, and other financial products.
Sponsored Consumer Users
Prospective consumers who enter the Savology platform through a paid advertising campaign, a social media post, or a funnel page funded by a specific Advisor Sponsored Client. They receive the standard Savology experience and are subject to the same terms as Consumer Users, with the additional matching priority described in the Sponsored Consumer Users section below.
Definitions
Consumer User
A user who has created a Savology account directly, through our website, a marketing campaign, or a landing page, outside of an employer benefit program or an advisor subscription.
Advisor Subscription User
A licensed financial advisor, financial coach, or financial planning professional who accesses Savology through a paid subscription.
Employer-Channel User
A user who created a Savology account through or in connection with an employer-sponsored benefit program.
Match Threshold
The point at which a prospective user becomes eligible for connection with a financial advisor or coach through Savology’s Advisor and Coach Matching Program. The Match Threshold is met when a user creates a Savology account or completes a full financial survey or report card.
Sponsored Consumer User
A prospective consumer who enters the Savology platform through a funnel page funded by an Advisor Sponsored Client. Sponsored Consumer Users are subject to the same terms as Consumer Users, with the additional matching priority described in the Sponsored Consumer Users section below.
Advisor Sponsored Client
A licensed financial services professional or firm — including financial advisors, estate planning attorneys, insurance agents, and others — that engages Savology to operate a advisor-sponsored acquisition funnel using the client’s own advertising budget. Matches generated through that funnel are offered to the Advisor Sponsored Client on an exclusive basis before any remainder may be sold to other financial professionals or placed on a matching marketplace.
Financial Plan Data
Income, savings rate, debt levels, insurance coverage, retirement goals, investable assets, and other information you enter as part of completing a financial plan or report card.
Description of Service
Savology provides a free financial planning platform through which consumers can build a financial report card, a financial plan, and receive personalized action items. A core function of the Service is connecting Consumer Users with licensed financial advisors, financial coaches, and financial professionals through Savology’s Advisor and Coach Matching Program. The financial planning tools are provided in connection with this program.
The Service also makes available optional paid platform upgrades (Essentials, Elite, and Expert tiers) and consumer-facing products from Savology’s affiliate partner providers. The products and services visible to any given user may vary based on user type and, for clients of Advisor Subscription Users, on the advisor’s configuration choices.
Savology is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, tax advisor, credit counselor, or legal advisor as defined by state or federal law. Nothing in the Service constitutes personalized investment advice.
The Service may change over time. Features may be added or removed at Savology’s sole discretion.
Upstream Landing Pages
Savology operates landing pages and survey pages at domains other than savology.com as part of its advisor-sponsored acquisition funnel. Those pages are governed by their own short-form Terms of Use and Privacy Notice. Submitting information through an upstream page does not itself create a Savology account and does not automatically enroll you in the Service or its Advisor and Coach Matching Program.
When a visitor creates a Savology account or completes a full financial survey or report card through an upstream page, they become a Consumer User and these Terms apply to them from that point forward.
Accounts
When you create an account, you certify that you are at least 18 years of age, currently located in the United States, and registering only for yourself. You certify that the information you provide is accurate, complete, and current. Inaccurate or incomplete information may result in improper calculations or recommendations and may result in termination of your account.
By registering, you agree to receive electronic communications about your account and financial plan, including offers, recommendations, tips, education, and updates relevant to your user type. Your email preferences may be updated from within your account or from unsubscribe links in any email we send.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password. Notify us immediately at support@savology.com upon becoming aware of any unauthorized use of your account. You may not sell, transfer, share, or assign your account to anyone else.
Consumer Users – Advisor and Coach Matching
This section applies to Consumer Users only. It does not apply to Employer-Channel Users unless they have separately and explicitly opted in, or to Advisor Subscription Users in their professional capacity.
Connecting Consumer Users with licensed financial advisors, financial coaches, and financial professionals is a core function of the Service. Savology operates an Advisor and Coach Matching Program through which Consumer Users who complete a financial plan or report card may be connected with financial advisors, financial coaches, or other financial professionals.
Important: Licensed financial advisors connected through the Service are registered investment advisors or broker-dealers subject to applicable securities laws and regulations. Financial coaches connected through the Service are not licensed financial advisors and do not provide regulated investment advice, securities recommendations, or personalized investment management. The nature of guidance you may receive differs materially depending on whether you are connected with a licensed advisor or a financial coach.
By creating an account and completing a financial survey, report card, or financial plan as a Consumer User, you expressly consent to:
- Savology sharing your financial plan data, financial profile, and contact information — including name, email address, and phone number if provided — with licensed financial advisors, financial coaches, financial planning firms, and matching marketplace partners, for the purpose of connecting you with personalized financial guidance
- Being contacted by one or more financial advisors, financial coaches, or financial professionals by phone, email, or text message
- This contact occurring even if your number is listed on a federal or state Do Not Call registry, because you are providing express written consent to be contacted in connection with this Service
- Your financial plan and profile being used to evaluate your suitability for connection with specific advisors or coaches
Savology receives compensation from financial professionals and matching marketplace partners when Consumer User matches are delivered and accepted. This compensation does not influence your report card grades, financial plan calculations, action items, or the matching process itself.
What We Share
Your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and financial data including income, assets, debt, goals, and retirement information. We may share a copy of your completed financial plan or report card.
Who We Share With
Licensed financial advisors, financial coaches, financial planning firms, and matching marketplace partners. Savology does not sell your information to unrelated data brokers or third parties whose services are unrelated to financial planning or coaching.
Exclusivity
Where possible, Savology aims to connect Consumer Users with a limited number of advisors or coaches rather than distributing your information broadly. Savology does not guarantee exclusivity in all cases.
Revoking Consent
You may revoke consent at any time by contacting support [at] savology [dot] com or by requesting deletion of your account. Revocation does not affect sharing that occurred prior to your request or information already received by a financial advisor, financial coach, or matching marketplace partner.
SaaS Upgrades and Partner Products
In addition to the free report card and financial plan, Consumer Users can opt for paid platform upgrades (Essentials, Elite, and Expert tiers) as well as products and services from Savology’s affiliate partners. These may include term life insurance, disability income insurance, estate planning services, health savings accounts, health insurance, homeowners’ insurance, and other financial products. Savology may receive compensation when Consumer Users engage with or purchase these products. Affiliate compensation arrangements do not influence your report card grades, financial plan calculations, or action items.
Savology does not guarantee that any financial advisor or coach will contact you or that any particular financial outcome will result from a connection made through the Service.
Sponsored Consumer Users
This section applies to consumers who enter the Savology platform through a paid advertising campaign, a social media post, or a funnel page funded by an Advisor Sponsored Client. Sponsored Consumer Users receive the standard Savology experience and are subject to the same terms as Consumer Users, with the following additional provisions.
Exclusive First Right of Match
Matches generated through an Advisor Sponsored Client’s funded funnel are offered to that client on an exclusive basis. The sponsoring client reviews each match and determines whether to accept it. Savology does not transmit the match to any other party during this review period.
Advisor Pass and Secondary Distribution
If the Advisor Sponsored Client declines a match, that match may be sold to other financial professionals or placed on a matching marketplace. The consumer’s consent to Savology’s standard Advisor and Coach Matching Program covers this secondary distribution.
Same Terms and Data Practices
Sponsored Consumer Users are subject to the same terms, rights, and obligations as Consumer Users in all other respects, including advisor and coach matching consent, revocation rights, and product offerings.
Advisor Subscription Users – Platform Access
This section applies to licensed financial advisors, financial coaches, and financial planning professionals who access Savology through a paid subscription.
- Advisor Subscription Users access the Service subject to these Terms and any separate subscription agreement
- Advisor account data, usage data, and professional information is used solely to provide and maintain subscription access
- Advisor Subscription User data is not shared with consumer-facing matching marketplaces or third-party consumer data partners
- Where an Advisor Subscription User has separately agreed to receive Consumer User matches through Savology’s matching delivery program, they receive Consumer User financial plan data under the terms of that separate agreement
- Advisor Subscription Users who receive Consumer User data through a matching delivery agreement are responsible for their own compliance with applicable federal and state financial privacy laws, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, in their use of that data
Partner Products and Provider Configuration
Savology makes a catalog of affiliate partner products available within the platform — including term life insurance, disability income insurance, estate planning services, and other financial products — that Advisor Subscription Users may choose to offer to their clients. Advisors may select from Savology’s catalog, offer their own preferred providers, or a combination of both. When an advisor elects to use their own providers, those provider relationships are governed by the advisor’s own agreements. Savology is not a party to those arrangements, is not responsible for the data practices or conduct of advisor-substituted providers, and receives no compensation from them.
Employer-Channel Users – Benefit Program Access
If you accessed Savology through an employer benefit program, the following governs your use and takes precedence over the Consumer User sections above.
Your individual financial information is not shared with your employer. Savology shares only aggregated, non-personally identifiable utilization data with employers to confirm benefit usage rates. Your individual financial plan, financial details, and personal contact information are never disclosed to your employer.
You are not enrolled in Savology’s financial advisor or coach matching or Advisor and Coach Matching Program by default. Your information will not be shared with financial advisors, financial coaches, financial professionals, or advisor and coach matching partners without your separate, explicit opt-in consent provided from within your account settings. There is no action required on your part to opt out — non-enrollment is the baseline.
If you choose to opt in to the Advisor and Coach Matching Program from within your account settings, you will be treated as a Consumer User for all purposes — including data sharing, matching, and consent to contact — as described in the Consumer Users section above.
Savology maintains strict operational and technical separation between Employer-Channel User data and Consumer User data at all times.
Affiliate Relationships and Compensation
Savology maintains affiliate and revenue-sharing relationships with third-party partners across all user types. In some cases, Savology receives compensation when users interact with partner products or services through the Service.
For Consumer Users
Savology may receive compensation from matching marketplace partners when Consumer User matches are delivered to and purchased by financial professionals through those marketplaces. Savology may also receive referral fees or commissions when Consumer Users engage with or purchase products from affiliate partner providers — including term life insurance, disability income insurance, estate planning services, health savings accounts, health insurance, homeowners insurance, mortgage lenders, investment platforms, and other financial products — or when Consumer Users upgrade to a paid Savology subscription tier.
For Advisor Subscription Users
Savology receives subscription fees and, where applicable, matching delivery fees and Advisor Sponsored Client engagement fees. Savology may also receive compensation from third-party tools, integrations, or affiliate partner products made available to advisors through the platform. When advisors elect to surface their own provider relationships rather than Savology’s affiliate partners, Savology receives no compensation from those arrangements and is not responsible for the terms or data practices of those providers.
For Employer-Channel Users
Savology receives fees from employers for providing the benefit program. Savology may also receive compensation from affiliate partner providers when Employer-Channel Users engage with or purchase partner products through the Service. Savology does not receive matching program compensation in connection with Employer-Channel User data unless those users have separately opted in to the Consumer User Advisor and Coach Matching Program.
Across All User Types
Savology may receive compensation when users click affiliate links, complete applications with partner companies, or engage with sponsored content or recommendations within the Service. Affiliate compensation arrangements do not influence the financial plan calculations, report card grades, or action items generated for you, which are based solely on the information you provide and Savology’s methodology. Affiliate compensation arrangements also do not determine which financial advisors or coaches are matched with Consumer Users; matching is based on user financial profile, geographic availability, and advisor or coach capacity.
Limitations and Restrictions
Financial plans, report cards, action items, and recommendations provided through the Service are for illustrative and informational purposes only. They are based on general assumptions and on the information you provide. Savology’s analysis, estimates, and forecasts are not personalized investment advice.
Savology is not a credit counselor, registered investment advisor, legal advisor, or tax advisor as defined by state or federal law.
Licensed financial advisors connected through the Service are registered investment advisors or broker-dealers regulated under applicable securities laws. Financial coaches connected through the Service are not licensed financial advisors, are not registered with the SEC or any state securities regulator, and do not provide regulated investment advice. If you are connected with a financial coach rather than a licensed advisor, you should understand that the coach’s guidance is not regulated under securities laws and does not constitute personalized investment management.
Your personal financial situation is unique. Information or recommendations obtained through the Service may not be appropriate for your situation. Use of the Service is not a replacement for professional financial, legal, or tax advice.
Credit Services
Within your account, you may have the option of enrolling in additional services for viewing and monitoring your credit history and credit score. By enrolling, you authorize Savology and its agents to access your credit files from national credit reporting agencies to verify your identity and provide these services. You waive any claims against Savology and its agents for the acts or omissions of these third parties regarding use or disclosure of such information.
Links to Other Websites
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services not owned or controlled by Savology. Savology has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. We strongly advise you to read the terms and privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit.
Availability, Errors, and Inaccuracies
We are constantly updating the Service. Information found on the Service may contain errors or inaccuracies and may not be complete or current. We reserve the right to change or update information and to correct errors at any time without prior notice. Savology is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from scheduled or unscheduled downtime.
Purchases
If you wish to purchase any product or additional service through the Service, you may be asked to supply payment information. You represent and warrant that you have the legal right to use any payment method provided and that all information you supply is true, correct, and complete. We use third-party services for payment processing and do not store your payment card details directly. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order if fraud or an unauthorized or illegal transaction is suspected.
Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Savology, Inc. and its licensors. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without prior written consent.
By submitting comments, suggestions, or ideas (“Feedback”) you grant us a non-exclusive, unrestricted, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to use your Feedback for any purpose without compensating you.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. To have your account deleted and your information purged, or to opt out of our data sharing practices, contact us at support@savology.com or use your account settings.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Savology, Inc. and its licensees, licensors, employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, and costs arising from: (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms; (b) a material breach of these Terms; or (c) your gross negligence or willful misconduct in connection with your use, interpretation, or application of financial plans, reports, or recommendations we provide.
Savology’s total cumulative liability to you under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (i) fifty dollars ($50.00) or (ii) the total fees you have paid to Savology in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. This limitation reflects the fact that the core Service is provided to Consumer Users free of charge.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Savology, Inc. or its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to, use of, or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; (iii) any content obtained from the Service; or (iv) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
Disclaimer
Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Savology does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that results from using the Service will meet your requirements or improve your financial situation.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
Changes
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting updated Terms on the site or by email at the address associated with your account. By continuing to access or use the Service after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms.
